Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has announced that a traffic police officer in Fazabad will now be open 24 hours a day to facilitate the citizens seeking driving licenses and other services.
According to an official statement, the decision was made during a meeting of the IGP overnight to review the supply of public services. He directed the senior officers to smooth the licensing process and increase the facilities at the police Khadmat Marquez centers.
Operating times in the current mandate markaz have been extended from 6pm to 9pm, while new counters are being prepared to reduce the waiting hours. The driving license services are currently available at 11 policemen in Islamabad, and authorities have finally intended to increase traffic services to all police stations.
The IGP advised citizens to obtain their driving license before October 1, and warn that driving after this deadline would lead to FIR registration, arrests and obstruction of vehicles. Islamabad Traffic Police has launched public awareness campaigns to inform the residents of new measures.
