Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has launched a new move to secure the travel and reduce traffic accidents by setting up the first heavy Vehicle Driving Training School in the Manawan Traffic Police Lines.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Usman Anwar visited the under construction facility and reviewed the progress in a meeting with senior officers, including CTO Lahore Dr. Uttar Wahid, Digging Traffic Punjab Waqas Nazir, Dag Sip Ghazi Salahuddin, and CEO of Saif cities.
The school will provide special training for bus, truck, and goods transport drivers using modern technology and modern driving simulators. According to officials, certified training programs will cover passenger bus operators, heavy vehicle drivers and carriers, which aims to reduce accidents caused by unskilled driving.
The training will include classroom lectures, practical driving sessions, and traffic law awareness programs. Drivers who successfully pass the test will be awarded the official certificate.
During his visit, IG Usman Anwar also inspected the MT section, Integration Center and other departments in the Manan Traffic Lines.
