The government has launched a downrising drive, targeting major departments under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MOTT), including the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and Agnet.
Sources in the ministry confirm that widespread reforms are being planned to reorganize these institutions for better performance and performance.
Mutt hired the international consulting firm Alvarez and Marcel to guide the diagnosis and reorganization process. The firm has begun its work and is expected to make recommendations in these departments, focusing on institutional reforms, smooth functions and eliminating waste within these departments.
A significant reduction in the NTC believes, with insiders filling up, saying its total size may decrease by 50 %. Similar structural changes are expected on PSEB and Agnet, which aims to keep your tasks align with the basic mandate and reduce unnecessary costs. These changes are also expected to encourage maximum financial freedom among the department.
According to officials, the purpose of this organization is not only to reduce costs but also increase the supply of services and improve the strategic production of these companies in Pakistan’s digital economy. These reforms are part of a broader government agenda to modernize government institutions and to further react to technical and economic requirements.
The scope of rights can go beyond NTC, PSEB and Agnet, as the ministry considers more structural changes in other affiliated organizations.
