The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced to discover a significant gas and thickness in its Butter East -1 well, in Khairpur district, Sindh, Sindh, in Sindh.
OGDCL, which runs the Bitter Explororation License with 95 % working interest, searched in partnership with Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL), which is the remaining 5 %.
The Bitter East -1 well was released on June 30, 2025, and the Sambar was targeted at a depth of 3,800 meters. The drilling operation was carried out using the OGDCL’s domestic skills in close cooperation with its joint venture.
According to the OGDCL, two drill voice tests (DSTS) were performed in the formation of the lower guru – especially in large scale and in basal sand. Both tests yielded enthusiastic results, which had a well -known 22.5 million standard cubic feet daily (MMSCFD) (MMSCFD) or gas and 690 barrels of condensation per day (BCD).
This latest discovery reinforces the position of the OGDCL in the Bitzerm Explororation License and increases the company and the country’s hydrocarbon reserves. The company says this new search will help reduce the gap between energy supply and demand by tapping into indigenous resources.
