Abu Dhabi can see the self -driving pods who move communities into the city’s busy streets by the end of this year. The CEO or the CEO of the Abu Dhabi Transport Company (ADT) or the Abu Dhabi Transport Company (ADT) announced that the sovereign transport system Urbanlop is manufacturing after a one -long partnership.
“We decided to cooperate with the Arbnlop a year ago. Today, the module is ready, and by the end of this year and in the next year, we expect this system to work for public use.”
The arbonalop pod located on the display can reach eight passengers – four sitting and four standing – with the options of the small and large version, between two to 10 passengers. The beans are also designed to make bicycles and wheelchairs accessible.
The test continues on the Rim Island
The independent system is currently examining the Rim Island, where the region’s intense heat and dust are being molded. In the United Arab Emirates, the beans are operating at a speed of about 20 km per hour, though the technology has been tested at 50 km per hour in France.
How Urbanlop works
The Urbanlop is designed to reduce the sheep by ignoring intermediate stations and traveling directly to its last stop. Two parallel tracks will be used, in which each station is waiting for many pods. Travelers can choose their destination, and if they choose the last station, the pod will send all other people on the way.
The system was first introduced at the Paris Olympics, where it had more than 30,000 passengers aboard two kilometers. It requires minimal construction, which makes it easier to deploy, while its low energy consumption is in accordance with the goals of stability of the United Arab Emirates.
Connect with the rail and reduce car use
Experts believe that this technology can play a key role in solving the challenges of the first and last mail, especially for travelers using alliance rail. Space 42, CEO of smart solutions in SARS, Hassan al -Husseani, “By combining the rail network with an independent vehicle, we can reduce the dependence on private cars and promote joint movements.”
Mangant echoed the emotions, saying that the success of sovereign systems would depend on passenger habits. “People will only give up private cars when public transport is more connected, comfortable and reliable,” he said during a panel at the World Rail Conference in Abu Dhabi.
Although the current test speed of 20 km / h is not exemplary, the Magint emphasized that future progress, sandbox testing, and scalled pilots can provide faster and more efficient services. “After making the last mail journey more efficient, we can encourage more people to move to public transport,” he added.
During the conference, a prototype pod was displayed at the ADT’s stand, which presented a glimpse to the visitors, which could soon become a regular part of the Abu Dhabi transport network.
