Federal Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb has said that talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are moving positively.

Talking to the media, the Minister confirmed that no additional tax measures were currently under consideration.

Aurangzeb emphasized the government’s commitment to increase the country’s tax ratio by 11 %, which is an important goal of improving financial stability. He said that talks with the IMF are underway and so far, all the conversations have been positive.

The Finance Minister also highlighted that several tax cases are still pending in the courts. He expressed hope that progress in these matters could help increase tax collection in the coming months.
