P&G to stop operations in Pakistan

Global consumer goods giant, Proctor and Gamble (P&G) have announced that it will eliminate its manufacturing and trade operations in Pakistan, including Jelt Pakistan Limited.

Instead, the company will move to the third party distributor model to continue serving Pakistani consumers.

This decision is part of P&G’s global strategy to accelerate development and create more value. The company said that unless the transition is completed, the general business operations in Pakistan will continue, the process is expected to take several months.

The P&G emphasized that the transfer plan would start immediately, which would focus on the help of its employees. The staff whose roles are affected will be considered for opportunities in other P&G operations outside Pakistan or will receive separation package according to local laws and company policies.

After reviewing several powers, P&G concluded that working with a third -party distribution is the most practical way to keep its products available in Pakistan.

The company thanked its employers, partners and consumers for their support in the past years, saying, “Thank you for your support in all these years, which has helped us to take P&G in Pakistan as far as possible.”

P&G products will be available in Pakistan, but they will now be provided directly by the company through regional operations and local distributors rather than directly and sale.
