Following objections raised by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) by intelligence agencies, Retired Grade 22 Inland Revenue Officer Farina Mazhar has removed the name of the proposed members for the Bonami Adjeeration Authority.

Sources told the proposal that the FBR had given three names to the federal cabinet in a summary for the role of chairperson and authority members: Zahoor Ahmed, retired Grade 22 Secretariat Group Officer. Farina Mazhar, Retired Inland Revenue Officer; And Surya Ahmed Butt, a retired customs officer.

However, Surya Ahmed Butt has already been appointed as the Chairperson of the National Anti -Dumping Authority.

Intelligence agencies allegedly expressed concern over the candidates for the fantasy, promoting their name removal from the list.

Under the guidance from the Prime Minister’s Office, the FBR revised the summary and now instead of retired customer Majid Yousafani.

It is important to note that the Banami decision -making authority and the Anti -Benami Zone were actually set up under the Benami Transactions (prohibited) Act, 2017, to detect and implement the Benami (Proxy) properties.

By 2022, these zones filed several references to billions of rupees worth of movements worth billions of rupees.

However, after the government’s change in the PDM alliance from PTI, the new administration reluctantly operates both the authority and its implementation areas.

As a result, progress has been slowed, and many major issues of Benami have lost legal enforcement.

Sources within the FBR say that despite the preliminary pace, the effectiveness of the framework of Benami is damaged due to political will, lack of resources and lack of administrative delays.
