The number of accidents related to the newly launched electro bus service in Faisalabad is increasing, damaging three more buses, which has increased the total number of the affected vehicle in just one week.

According to reports, the latest incidents occurred at Ghanta Ghar Chowk, where an rickshaw collided with an electro bus, which scattered the gates of the side near the women’s seating area.

In another case, the back screen of the bus was broken when it was being overturned. A third bus was hit by a motorcycle rickshaw on Jhang Road.

Sources say that due to poor administration and lack of surveillance, many buses have broken their doors, lights and glass panels within seven days of service.

However, Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Rashid Ali denied the negligence claim, saying that some buses were already damaged during the shipment.

He added that all drivers and staff are eligible and experienced, but three drivers have been dismissed after being found responsible for the Masi. Further action is being taken, he said.
