Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Directive on Office Timings
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a firm directive to all federal ministries, divisions, and autonomous bodies, instructing them to strictly follow official working hours. The decision comes after repeated complaints regarding lateness and absenteeism in government offices, ARY News reported.
The prime minister has voiced his displeasure concerning the increasing culture of lateness saying that any delays and absenteeism will no longer be regarded lightly. Secretaries and heads of departments were requested to be role models by ensuring that there is discipline and observed time in their respective organisations.
A formal notification, issued by the Cabinet Division and signed by Cabinet Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal, has been sent to all ministries and departments, calling for instant compliance. The directive aims to boost operational efficiency, strengthen institutional discipline, and improve service delivery across federal entities.
The government punctuality directive is part of a wider plan to promote a culture of accountability and deliver better public services. The Prime Minister’s Office reiterated that punctuality is a vital component of good governance and must be observed without exception.
