Islamabad Express launched just two hours ago, after a technical error on Friday evening, he got off the tracks near Sohwa, several investment passengers, though no deaths were reported.
The train was inaugurated by Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi at 5:30 pm, but around 7:30 pm, it came to the tracks near the mountainous part of Sohwa with a loud accident. Many coaches were badly damaged by the track, and the rail traffic was suspended on the tracks up and down for about three hours.
According to the passengers, according to Irshad Ali and Rustam, the train slowed down as the hill entered the area, and “strange sounds were coming down” a few moments before getting off its track. “It felt like an earthquake,” he said.
The railway unions imposed the crash on the use of revised, wasted coaches, and claimed that they had been re -painted and presented as new. He also said that the safety equipment was missing and repeated requests for the passenger protection material were ignored.
Railway Divisional Superintendent, Rawalpindi, said that when reports of the incident were received, engineers and technical staff were immediately sent to the site. Rescue teams from Jhelum and Sohawa joined in efforts to clean the track after three hours.
Senior railway officials, including Chief Mechanical Engineer and Chief Engineer, arrived at the site to launch internal investigations on Friday night. An initial report is expected in the next few days.
Railway sources said that there were straightforward cases in the track near Sohwa, which had already been reported to the top officials. The initial reason for getting off the tracks is considered a wrong junction point, causing one of the wheels to slip from the track.
