National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) announced on Friday that Multan Sukor Motorway (M -5) was closed due to floods, in which traffic has been sent to alternate routes.

According to an NHMP spokesperson, vehicles from Multan can get out on the Shah Shams Interchange, use the National Highway, and can be re -joined on the motorway in the Yuch Sharif Interchange.

Those who go to Multan from the score are advised to leave the M-5 on the Uch Sharif Interchange, continue on the national highway, and the Sher Shah is re-center on the Interchange. Patrol officers and road guides have been deployed to help drivers.

The closure came after a day after the federal government approved additional controlled violations with M -5 to manage flood waters and floodwaters threatening areas of the surrounding areas.

The decision was made at a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Malim Khan, attended by senior officials of Punjab, National Highway Authority (NHA) and other agencies.

Officials confirmed the loss of floods at five points along the motorway, which supported the villages of Multan, Lodharan and Bahawalpur districts. Multan – The Yuch Sharif section is closed while NHA teams work to restore traffic flow.
