Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM), Aaron Akhtar Khan, on Monday, held a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Chinese laptop manufacturing company HIF (CEO) to discuss the establishment of a laptop and tablet manufacturing industry in Pakistan on Monday.
According to a news release, HIF specializes in the manufacture of laptops, fingerprint devices and tablets. SAPM said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed that all possible facilities have been provided to Chinese investors, and they have been assured that their investment in Pakistan will be completely safe.
He added that the government will introduce, under the vision of the Prime Minister Mobile Device policy that will also include laptops and tablets.
Highlighting investors convenience measures, Aaron noted that a visa policy for Chinese investors has improved, which allows for visas and issuance of business visas within 24 to 72 hours.
The SAPM also directed the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and the Engineering Development Board (EDB) to extend the full cooperation of HIF for the successful establishment of the project in Pakistan.
