The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) has invited the Central Power Purchase Agency (Guarantee) Limited (CPPA) to the banks and power sector agencies to sign a financial support agreement to reduce circular debt in the power sector.
According to the CPPAG, the program is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is expected to attend the event in practice.
Talking to the chief executives of banks and power companies, the CPPAG emphasized the importance of the deal, calling it an important milestone for the energy sector. The agency requested the participation of key stakeholders, and on the occasion called their presence “necessary”.
CPPAG added that the details of the event will be confirmed after harmony with the Prime Minister’s Office.
