Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi announced on Monday that Rawalpindi Railway Station is being upgraded to a “safe and smart” facility in collaboration with the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), which is complete on October 15.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a new rack for Sabak Khurram Rail Car (104 DN), Abbasi said the project includes free Wi -Fi to expand the experience of executive lounges, modern waiting areas, escorts, and passengers.
He added that cleanliness and overall facilities are being improved across the country.
The Minister said that Pakistan Railways is making reforms to provide modern and comfortable travel, including a phased change of ricks on four trains operating between Lahore and Rawalpindi.
In collaboration with the Capital Development Authority, a new service is also being launched between Margala and Rawalpindi stations. An exchange will be constructed on the ninth Avenue near Margala Station, while an electric bus service will connect Rawalpindi Rae Way Station with Shobeli Chowk.
Abbasi confirmed that the Narol Section will be restored on October 25, while 400 upgraded coaches and 60 newly shared persons will be included by December 31. He also highlighted plans to identify biometric passengers to increase safety and safety.
