The Punjab government is ready to launch an electric bus service in Wazirabad on September 17, 2025. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the project, which will be identified for the first time when the city will get modern, friendly public transport.
Officials said the service would improve daily travel for thousands of passengers by offering cheap and environmentally friendly travel options. Buses will work on the city’s major routes, in the first phase, fifteen vehicles are operating.
Authorities expect the project to serve nearly 100,000 passengers every day, which will reduce traffic and reduce pollution. The announcement comes a day after the inauguration of the Chief Minister’s Green Electric Bus Service in Mianwali.
Maryam Nawaz that the move will gradually spread to Punjab, which will bring modern and sustainable transportation facilities to more districts.
