Yangwang, BD’s luxury sub -fire, set a new global production car top speed record of 496.22 km per hour on the ATP Automotive Testing Paineburg track on September 14, 2025. This record was obtained with U9 Xtreme Hypertarian, which crossed the previous EV Benchmark and the fastest petard model.
Technical highlights
U9 Xtreme (U9x) is manufactured on the technical architecture of the standard U9 sold in China, which features multiple upgrades.
- 1200V Ultra High Voltage Electrics (above 800V)
- Lithium iron phosphate blade battery with a 30c discharge rate
- Four ultra high -speed motors that manufacture over 3000p and work up to 30,000 RPMs
- Tires with semi -licking of track surface
- Revised DISUS-X suspension for high-speed circuit driving
This increase enables U9X to connect extreme performance with zero emissions, and sets a new standard for power hyper cars.
German track expert Mark Basing, who had extensive experience at Sports Car Racing and Endourne Motor Support, launched a record run. Basing said that the lack of permanent power supply and load changes in electric driving was allowed to focus on track, playing a vital role in record performance.
BYD Executive Vice President Stella Lee praised the R&D team for his efforts, while explaining what is possible in U9x representatives to innovate Yangwang and automotive engineering.
U9 Xtreme will be offered in a limited production of 30 units. Its name reflects the concept of “extreme” and “unknown” according to Yangwang’s innovation and search philosophy.
