Excise Department Lahore has simplified car registration and transfer process

Additional Director General Excise Razwan Sherwani has announced that citizens will no longer have to physically bring their vehicles to the excise office for inspection. Under the new procedure, the applicant will need to upload photos of the vehicle, back and chassis just for the vehicle entry or transfer.

Sherwani explained that once the images were uploaded, the matter would be automatically sent to the Inspector and the ETO for review and approval. Earlier, the vehicle’s hinds had to be personally inspected at the daily excise offices, but the latest process aims to make the experience faster and easier for the public.

He added that all the number plates can now be protected already. For this purpose, applicants will be prepared a modern PSID to secure their desired number.

Acknowledging the challenges facing the new system on September 1, the extra DG said that a dedicated IT team has been formed to resolve the initial technical defects.
