To stop the smog, Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr Asad Waheed has announced stringent measures against the smoke -out vehicle.
According to his instructions, heavy vehicles will be banned from entering the city without fitness certification, starting October 1. The Motor Vehicle Ordinance will be prosecuted under section 39 of 1965.
The CTO said a massive crackdown against vehicles is being launched, which eliminates excessive smoke. Since January this year, more than 26,301 challan has already been issued to violators.
Dr. Waheed emphasized that air pollution is a major cause of various diseases and he emphasized that collective efforts are needed to fight smog and protect public health.
