The City Administration has decided to organize private parking stands in Lahore, which plans to issue licenses and impose annual renewal for all operators.

According to officials, 242 parking sites have already been identified in the first phase, while more stands will be brought under the rules in the next phase. Licenses will be required for parking operations on private plots.

Under the proposed plan, the festival in private stands will be higher than government prices. Motorcycle riders will receive Rs 30 and cars Rs 50, while compared to the official rates of Rs 10 and Rs 30 respectively. The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) expects the License Festival to have significant income in the scheme.

Authorities say the move will end the long -term dispute over a legal and illegal parking stand in the provincial capital. The MCL has already completed the groundwork and sent a draft to the Deputy Commissioner for approval.

The final decision is now with the DC, which can be formally regularized by the approval of the private parking stand under a new license framework.
