The district administration has ordered the suspension of metro bus operations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi during fears over possible protests in the twin cities. The move comes as a precautionary measure to maintain public safety and prevent potential unrest.

According to Metro Bus officials, the service has been suspended on the way to the Sadr Station -Pak Secretariat until further information. Following the advice of intelligence reports, it was decided after the district administration’s direction that the demonstrations could disrupt public transport and create security challenges.

Officials said the suspension is temporary and services will resume after the situation is stable. Metro bus staff and security teams have been instructed to remain on standby for any further order.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has also suspended the operations of the Orange Line Metro train in Lahore due to security concerns. Sources It confirmed that the train service has been stopped for the day as part of the wider security measures in major urban centers.

Earlier, the Orange Line stations were closed for passengers, and police and security personnel were deployed to key locations to ensure law and order. Communists have been advised to use alternative transport until both services are resumed.
