The Ministry of Industry and Production, for the first time, has implemented the quality and safety standards for all vehicles in Pakistan, including imports and locally manufactured units, which aims to improve road safety and environmental compliance.
According to reports released by the Engineering Development Board (EDB), all new and used imported vehicles will now have to comply with dozens of WP-29 standards. A framework designed for car harmony through the United Nations World Forum.

On the recommendation of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), the decision has been confirmed by the federal cabinet, and importers have also demanded that they receive pre -shipment inspection certificates from the agencies approved in KTL in JAAA or KTL in Japan.
