Punjab Police reported on Tuesday that it had done work to enforce traffic laws across the province, issued thousands of driving licenses and collected lakhs of fines within just 24 hours.
According to a police spokesman, 34,342 driving licenses were issued in a single day, as part of efforts to encourage citizens to adopt a driving solution. At the same time, traffic police officers issued 37,789 challan (tickets) for various traffic violations, which 26 million in fines.
The spokesman added that the implementation teams also targeted the pollution vehicle. A total of 703 smoke -out vehicles were fined, and many of them were erected at 19 different police stations.
The Inspector General of Punjab Police directed the officials to take strict action against the traffickers violating, emphasizing that there are top priorities in compliance with road safety and traffic regulations. He also highlighted that 127 driving training schools are working to provide citizens with formal driving education to citizens.
The IGP added that effective and coordinated steps will be taken to recover the fines from defaulters while ensuring the complete implementation of traffic laws across the province.
