Chief Minister Punjab Nawaz Sharif inaugurated Sahiwal’s first electric bus service on Monday, which introduced a modern and environmentally friendly transport authority for the city.
The launch ceremony included a test ride by the Chief Minister, including Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan and senior officials. The crowd gathered on the way to welcome the buses, which reflects the public interest in the project.
In the first phase, 16 electric buses will work on four main routes: from Arfwala bypass Sarwar Chowk, Noor Shah’s KFC Bypass, Farid Town Yusufwala, and ordinary bus weakers. Authorities estimate that more than 25,000 passengers will use buses daily.
Rent RS. The rupee has been fixed. 20 per stop. Each bus is equipped with Wi -Fi, mobile charging facilities, and CCTV camera, which allocates a separate basket for women. A charging station for buses has also been set up in the city.
Provincial officials said the project is part of efforts to modernize public transport in cities of Punjab in offering cheap, safe and environmentally friendly alternatives.
