Another major Punjab District to get a total electric bus service

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz supported a high level review meeting to review the progress in eight major departments and issued several instructions aimed at accelerating provincial development projects.

The Chief Minister ordered that 1,115 electric buses run in Punjab by December and directed the Deputy Commissioners to track the setup of the charging stations.

It also approved a uniform design for bus stops, noteing the growing public interest in electric transport. Mary further approved the District War Roll Out Schedule for the Electric Bus Program and demanded a preliminary work on the Super Sovereign Rapid Transit (SRT) project.

Reviewing the Housing and Urban Development Department, he noted that WASA has extended 19 cities within months, which is only more than five, and has confirmed the purpose of reaching 25 districts by the end of the year.

Currently, more than 5000 water filtration plants are operating in Punjab. He instructed Minister Housing Bilal Yasin to personally inspect the plants, add them to the Deputy Commissioners’ PI, and make sure that clean bottle water reaches every house.

Mary was told that the Model Village Project has started in 472 villages, which features parks, smooth roads, drainage systems and better cleaning. He also directed the officials to formally launch a Pulse Gold Project, and ensure its benefits reach the people of Punjab.
