It is expected that Chief Minister Maryam Naez is expected to inaugurate the first Electric Bus Service in Rawalpindi, which aims to introduce sustainable and environmentally friendly public transport to the city.

Federal Minister for Railways Mohammad Hanif Abbasi addressed the members of the Rawalpindi Traders Association and announced the development.

He said that the launch of electric buses would have a significant upgrade marketing in urban movement, which would provide passengers for a safe, comfortable and cost -effective travel option. He said that the system would benefit especially professionals, women and students who rely on public transport daily.

Abbasi said that the project is in accordance with the vision of modern, clean, and effective transport of the Punjab government. He added that it will also help reduce the traffic sheep by reducing the emission from traditional buses and improving the city’s air quality.

Federal Parliamentary Secretary Barrister Daniel Chaudhry, MPA Ziaullah Shah, Sardar Naseem, and representatives of the business community participated in the program.

Highlighting the ongoing progress in the Rawalpindi infrastructure, Abbasi supported the federal and provincial leadership for projects such as Metro Bus, New Education Institutions, and Technical Centers.

He also said that a Saudi delegation is going to visit Pakistan soon to find new investment opportunities, signing international confidence in the government’s economic policies.
