The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) announced that more than 70 % of the work on Rawalpindi Rang Road (RRR) has been completed, which has described the project as an important step towards rehabilitation and economic activity in the twin cities.

The project includes Logistics and Education Centers, a Health City, Dry Port, Business Center, Industrial Zone, Transport Terminals, Wholesale Markets, Recreational Parks and Residential Communities Plans for Residential Communities.

At a recent meeting on the Ring Road Economic Zone chaired by RDA Director General Kanza Murtaza, officials emphasized the expected impact of the project on reducing traffic crowds in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, while also improved the environmental situation.

Murtaza said the move would boost the regional economy, create jobs, and provide better urban facilities, emphasize that construction is growing rapidly.

Dr. Shahid Mahmood, senior adviser to the OIC, said the project was in a long postponement and would work as a catalyst for development in the southwestern regions of Rawalpindi. He emphasized that the planned special economic zone has the support of modern urban planning and green building standards to avoid confidentialities in the future.

Former Ambassador Nagmana Hashmi added that the road would increase economic relations and transportation efficiency. Senior RDA officials also attended the meeting.
