Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates), Faisal Niaz Termizi, announced Thursday that Islamabad and Abu Dhabi are ready to deepen cooperation in the railway sector. He confirmed that the United Arab Emirates is already engaged in Pakistan’s Central Line 1 (ML-1) project and talks with the Alliance Rail are underway for further cooperation.
The ML One One Project, Pakistan’s largest railway move, aims to modernize the Peshawar Line of the 1.872 km Karachi and dual track. The upgrade includes advanced signature systems, improved bridges, modern stations, and train speed capacity. These projects are considered important to enhance regional connectivity, enhance freight capabilities and reduce travel hours, along with Quetta from Kotri to Jacobad, along with a transit.
The comments of the Minister of Hasee came when the delegation of Pakistan, headed by the Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azani, attended the World Rail Conference and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi 2025. It is running from September 30 to October 2, with more than 24 ministerial delegations, 60 global CEOs, and 200 international speakers hosted by “running the future of transport and global communication”.
“Pakistan had a valuable opportunity to highlight its strategic location at the confluence of Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East.” He added that the two countries will exchange excellent methods, in which the Alliance Rail will play a central role in supporting Pakistan’s ML -1 development.
More than 200 exhibitors have been exhibited at the World Rail Rail Conference organized by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and has welcomed more than 20,000 visitors. It served as a key platform for displaying infrastructure projects and searching for future transport solutions.
“The most cost -effective and environmentally friendly fashion of transportation after the rail maritime carrier is made,” the envoy stressed.
During the visit, Minister Kayani also experienced a speeding train ride between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, which completed the journey in just 35 minutes. The route is expected to open in 2026. Later, railway ministers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended.
Kayani also emphasizes the importance of close cooperation in railways, energy, governance and investment with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. According to Termezi, these debates “played a significant role in strengthening bilateral relations and advancing regional relations.”
In a separate statement, the Pakistan Embassy in the United Arab Emirates said that Kayani had shared the vision of Islamabad to transform his roleways into a modern, reliable and environmental sustainable network. He highlighted the strategic importance of upgrading both the ML-1 and ML-3 corridor to be compatible with international standards.
On the occasion of the event, Kayani also discussed with the CEO of the Alliance Railway to discuss cooperation in freight logistics, technology transfer, and network expansion. He visited the Alliance Rail and Haft Rail Exhibition Stalls to review the regional progress in the modern rail system.
