Experts believe that Pakistan needs to produce its indigenous AI products, solutions, apps and tools to protect consumer data in the country’s digital borders and power data protection at the national level.
It is associated with the target of the National AI’s National AI, which produces more than one million AI developers training and producing more than a thousand local AI products by 2030, as the AI Committee, Pasha member, has revealed.
Adnan Zaidi, Co -Chair AI Committee, Pasha, and Member AI Task Force, Mutt, while heading a meeting about Pasha’s policy round table in the 26th ITCN Asia 2025, highlighted the growing demand of AI developers in Pakistan, and in the social and economic sectors.
Addressing the session, Salman said that in order to achieve these goals, the country should invest in computer infrastructure, set up centers in AI centers, and ensure access to data and cloud services to strengthen the AI environmental system.
Salman also pointed out that Pakistan is the fourth most frequent consumer of the Chat GPT chat boot worldwide. However, he warned that consumers endanger their future data security in transmitting secret personal and business information outside the country. He added that creating local AI apps and solutions will not only protect organizational and individual data but will also serve consumers through specific features related to cultural and language.
Adnan noted that while several IT companies in Pakistan are already producing AI tools and apps, firms should focus on specializing and targeting specific industries such as health care, education, humanity, finance, and logistics to achieve maximum performance.
Zaidi emphasized that IT companies and academia should work aggressively to train human resources in AI to build indigenous system. He called for close cooperation between the academia and the private sector to educate the new IT graduates, which gives them internships and employment opportunities in the respective areas. He also emphasized that the national AI policy, developed by the Ministry of IT and telecommunications, should remove the existing space with a specialist input and review its important goals.
Round table experts also discussed the moral aspects of the AI, including the banking sector and its misuse in the business. He advised that the government and stakeholders should identify areas where AI should be applied or banned to strengthen data protection, cyber -scoring, regulatory compliance and quality.
He called on the government to set up dedicated funds – such as the AI Innovation Fund and the AI Venture Fund – Startup, R&D, and to support the local AI product development. In addition, he proposed a nationwide awareness campaign about AI, integration of AI’s educational curriculum, and high programs for manpower through scholarships, online courses and boot campuses.
