In its biggest operation to date, the Marine Enforcement Unit of the Customs of Customs (Enforcement), Karachi, has stopped three wooden ships consisting of 132.564 liters of Iranian-Irigan High Speed Diesel (HSD).
The operation, which took place during the night between 9 and 10 October 2025, is a major success in the department’s anti -smuggling drive.
According to official reports, the operation was launched on the basis of reliable intelligence on the movement of smuggled petroleum products on Pakistan’s coastal route.
A Marine Enforcement Team, under the leadership of Ayaz Ali and Saleem Yusuf, headed by the lead, left for deep waters to stop the suspected ships.
After pursuing a well -harmony, the officers successfully locked and seized the three boats near Somani and Fur/Spot areas. The launches were then safely taken to the Karachi Port’s Anti -Smuggling Organization (ASO) office, without any loss or loss.
The seized diesel is worth Rs 333.14 million, while the seized wood launches are worth Rs 45 million, which has the total cost of Rs 78.14 million.
Customs officials have confirmed that it is the largest operation of petroleum products by the Marine Unit to date.
Earlier, in September 2025, the same maritime team and several successful operations near Mara and Sonamani Bay, which exported 18,271 liters and 29.272 liters of smuggled HSD in separate operations.
Officials noted that this joint recovery, despite the low manpower and resources, indicates better monitoring, operational performance and harmony of the Marine Unit.
Customs of Customs (Enforcement), Karachi praised the Marine Enforcement Unit’s professionalism and vigilance, and described this operation as a “extraordinary teamwork and maritime discipline” model.
In a statement, Calcutt confirmed its commitment to strengthen the capability of Pakistan Customs Maritime Enforcement to protect national income and economic interests from organized smuggling networks.
