According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday, Pakistan received $ 2 3.2 billion in remittances of overseas workers in September 2025.
Statistics marks and an 11.3 percent increase compared to the 9 2.9 billion recorded in the same month, and increased by $ 3.1 billion in August.
Overall, remittances reached $ 9.5 billion during the first quarter of the current fiscal year (July – September 26), which is 8.8 billion from $ 8.8 billion in the same period of fiscal year.
Remittances have become an important source of foreign exchange for Pakistan, which supports the country’s external account, promotes economic activity, and meets domestic income.
Statistics error shows that Saudi Arabia has been the largest source of remittances, overseas Pakistani missions in September 751 million, which is 2 % higher than in August and 10 % higher than the same month last year. The United Arab Emirates (the United Arab Emirates) increased by 7 % in the year to $ 677 million.
In September, remittances from the UK had a total of $ 455 million, which declined by 2 % over August but was 7 % higher than a year ago. The arrival from the United States was $ 269 million, which reflects a 3 % reduction year year.
Meanwhile, remittances from EU countries for this month reached $ 424 million.
