Malaysia has agreed to import $ 200 million worth of meat from Pakistan, which has promoted Pakistan’s export ambitions.
The understanding took place during a recent meeting between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim in Potrajia.
The Prime Minister welcomed the decision to increase Malaysia’s meat imports and assured that Pakistan would meet all quality needs and regular conditions.
Pakistan and Malaysia also agreed to deepen cooperation in defense, agriculture and emerging technologies. Addressing a joint news conference then, Prime Minister Shahbaz called the talks “fruitful”, saying that the two sides “almost all change all important issues.
Pursuing joint ventures and mutual beneficial projects, he wants to learn a lesson from Malaysia’s technology, IT and artificial intelligence experience.
Earlier, the two governments exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MUS) in higher education, tourism, halal certification, anti-corruption cooperation, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which signed a new phase in Pakistan-Multiya relations.
Referring to the Urdu translation of Prime Minister Anwar’s book “Script”, Shahbaz described it as a framework for stability, innovation and mutual trust. He also praised Anwar Ibrahim’s “insightful leadership” and reiterated that Pakistan has a strong partnership with Malaysia to achieve the common goals of natural resources and talented youth, to achieve the common goals of development and prosperity.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim highlighted the historical and brotherly relations between the two countries, and said that economic cooperation is “always the bone.” He confirmed that Malaysia has already increased import of Pakistani rice and will now facilitate import of beef from Pakistan, increasing cooperation in new technologies.
Anwar also praised Pakistan’s stance on Palestine, saying that the two countries share a similar approach to world peace and stability.
