The technical level debates between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) began with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) team, led by its chairman, participated in the talks.

According to sources, FBR members, including Member Country Revenue Operations and Member Legal, are part of the dialogue.

The IMF delegation has been written on the current fiscal year’s tax targets and the progress made in legislative measures to increase tax network.

Sources further revealed that the schedule of the IMF mission is to meet the finance ministry officials at the end of the afternoon.

The IMF delegation has also launched a technical dialogue with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) officials in Karachi.

Sources have confirmed that policy -level talks with SBP officials will follow technical talks.

The talks are being attended by the Governor of the State Bank and the Deputy Governors. According to sources, the IMF delegation arrived at the State Bank Office at 9am to start the talks.
