Under the Ministry of IT and Telecom, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PBEE) has invited the establishment of three semiconductor Education and Research Clusters (SERCS) under the Phase I of the National Semicidal Human Resource Development Program (NSHRDP).
These clusters will be set up in the north, center and southern regions to strengthen Pakistan’s semiconductor talent pool and academic research environmental system.
According to the official document, the move aims to construct the regional centers of educational virtues by modernizing the curriculum in electronics, electrical engineering, and computer engineering while embedded modern semiconductor design material. Clusters are expected to develop more than a thousand trained engineers in 2030, which will align Pakistan’s manpower with the standard of global industry in chip design, verification, and related fields.
The flagship SERC will not only create a national pipeline of talent in the semiconductor design, but will also strengthen educational and research skills in public universities. They will serve as focal points for co -operation between academia and industry, which will enable the Fabbes semiconductor environmental system innovation and implementation R&D. The program will also promote indigenous research and facilitate employment by ensuring the industry ready -made people.
To ensure transparency and competitiveness, PSEB has invited eligible universities of the public sector to make electronic suggestions through the government’s e -procurement system (EPADS). The pre -prepaid meeting will be held by zoom on September 16, 2025, while the deadline for presenting the proposals is set on September 26, 2025 at 4:00 pm.
