Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday directed the concerned authorities to develop a comprehensive roadmap and reform agenda with practical plans to promote investment and trade in key sectors.

Presiding over a high -level meeting on investment, economic activity and trade in Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized that agriculture, information technology, minerals, tourism, and renewable energy are important sectors to prevent foreign investment.

He said, along with investment, promotion of trade was a central policy aim that aims to significantly increase the country’s exports. To ensure the timely completion of the ongoing projects, ministries were given goals to fully utilize the resources available.

Sharif instructed the ministers to identify possible projects and take immediate steps to implement them. He emphasized that a waiting roadmap and reform agenda is needed to make systematic progress towards national economic goals.

Highlighting the role of the private enterprise, the Prime Minister said that the private sector is central to the road map, will ensure that. He added that the government has a new direction for economic and financial reforms, which created innovation and transparency which kept the country on the path of development.

Federal Ministers Mossadak Malik (Environment), Ali Pervez Malik (Petroleum), Mohammad Jehisb (Finance), Jam Kamal (Commerce), Attaullah Tarr (Information), and Ahad Khan Kema (Economic Affairs) participated in this meeting of the heroes from London.
