The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has declared the withholding tax on the refund or transfer of money illegal and non -Islamic.
In its 243th meeting hero on September 24, 2025, the Council emphasized the need for legislation to resolve the issue.
Other important decisions included rejecting the proposed amendments to the Diyat law, which would remove silver and the amount of gold was not replaced. The council confirmed that the Islamic quantity of gold, silver and camels should be proposed in the law.
The issue of insulin containing pigs was also discussed. When halal alternatives are available, the council recommends avoiding such insulin.
On the matters of blasphemy, the Council suggested that the copies of the Qur’an, which are contaminated, should be cleaned immediately after being used for testimony, with appropriate legislation to enforce it.
The Council also expressed concern over the Supreme Court’s decision on the Waiting Period (IDDAH) and the restoration (hypocrisy) for divorced people, who have not eaten the bone, saying that the Quranic teachings and Sunnah are in conflict.
In addition, at the request of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Council agreed to the request to create a ringtonge for public awareness about the respect of sacred texts during Rabi.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Muhammad Ragib Hussain Naeemi, CII Chairman, with the participation of other members.
