The main branch of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on Fatima Jinnah Road in Hyderabad on Monday damaged furniture and documents.
Rescue 1122 spokesman Dilbar Helpato said the fire surrounded the bank’s store room in the basement. Based on a preliminary investigation, he added that a short circuit has mobilized the fire.
The incident happened after banking hours, he said. The spokesman said the rescue 1122 firefighting team successfully extinguished the flames and prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.
He confirmed that no casualties were reported.
