The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has released a corrigendum to Advertisement No. 22/2025 regarding the recruitment of multiple posts in the Punjab Prisons Department. The corrigendum has been uploaded on the official PPSC website www.ppsc.gop.pk
According to the revised notification, the recruitment includes five posts of Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), one post of Lady Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), ninety posts of Assistant Superintendent Jail (BS-16) — including four reserved for minority quota — and four posts of Lady Assistant Superintendent Jail (BS-16). All positions will be filled regularly.
The corrigendum also outlines the syllabus for the written examination, which will consist of:
- Paper-I: General Ability (MCQs covering General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Islamic Studies/General Knowledge for Non-Muslim Candidates, English, Urdu, Everyday Science, Mathematics, Geography, and Computer Studies) — 100 marks, 90 minutes.
- Paper-II: Prison Laws (The Prisons Act, 1894; Juvenile Justice System Act, 2018; UN Nelson Mandela Rules, 2015) — 100 marks, 90 minutes.
- Paper-III: English Essay — 100 marks, 2 hours.
- Paper-IV: Urdu Essay — 100 marks, 2 hours.
The written exam carries a total of 500 marks and may be conducted in two phases. Candidates must secure at least 40% marks in each subject and 50% overall to qualify. Successful candidates will be shortlisted for an interview at a 1:5 ratio. The PPSC has also announced that negative marking will apply in MCQs, with 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer.
