KP Launches Double-Shift School System, 2,500 Teachers

KP Government to Launch Double-Shift School System, 2,500 Teachers to be Hired

PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has unveiled plans to introduce a double-shift school system aimed at improving access to education for children in remote and underserved regions.

The spokesperson of Chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, known as Faraz Ahmad Mughal revealed that under the new model (double-shift school system), a small number of schools would run two shifts daily, in order to ensure that students in far-flung areas could access education, instead of braving the difficult travel or crowded classes.

To ensure the program’s smooth implementation, the provincial government will recruit more than 2,500 teachers on a temporary, contract basis. The hiring plan includes 1,804 primary school teachers and 639 secondary school teachers. Applications can be submitted through local district education offices or the official website of the education department.

Alongside the double-shift school system, efforts are underway to upgrade school infrastructure, provide essential facilities, and introduce modern teaching methods through comprehensive teacher training programs.

Special attention is being given to girls’ education, with new girls’ schools being established and scholarship schemes launched to encourage enrollment. The spokesperson noted that these initiatives form part of the broader strategy to raise educational standards and ensure every child in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has access to quality learning opportunities.
