ACE Seizes Assets from Sialkot ADCR in Major Corruption Case

It is in one of the greatest actions taken by Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) against corruption that it has withdrawn huge properties belonging to high-ranking government official of the Sialkot. The ACE seizes assets from Sialkot ADCR, Muhammad Iqbal, amid ongoing investigations into alleged bribery and misuse of authority.

According to ACE officials, Muhammad Iqbal, who holds the post of Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) in Sialkot, is accused of accepting bribes and illegally acquiring valuable property. Following a court-approved extension of his physical remand, the ACE intensified its probe to recover more evidence and assets.

The investigation led to the recovery of a Land Cruiser registered under number ARE-054, which was reportedly taken from a complainant for personal use. Additionally, the ACE seized a luxury Rolex watch, cash believed to be bribe money, and original ownership documents of two commercial plots in the CA area, plots number 39 and 40.

Further assets recovered include Rs6.825 million, allegedly intended for the purchase of a house in DHA, and a large sum of Rs49.15 million suspected to be linked to corrupt activities. The ACE seizes assets from Sialkot ADCR as part of its broader crackdown on graft within government departments.

The accused was initially placed under a five-day physical remand after his arrest on August 1, 2025, following FIR No 46/2025 filed on July 31 under sections 161 and 162 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The local court granted a four-day extension in his remand to allow investigators to continue their efforts in tracing and recovering further illicit assets.

An ACE spokesperson confirmed that while partial recoveries have been made, the investigation is ongoing to ensure all illegally obtained assets are confiscated. This case highlights ACE’s commitment to curbing corruption and promoting accountability in public service.
