Bahria Town Appeals Supreme Court to Stop August 7 Property Auction
Bahria Town has officially filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the Islamabad High Court’s recent decision that allowed the auction of its properties.
The appeal, submitted through Advocate Farooq H. Naik, requests the apex court to declare the Islamabad High Court’s ruling null and void. The prominent real estate developer has also sought an urgent hearing of the petition, asking for an immediate suspension of the scheduled auction until the court delivers its final verdict.
According to court documents, Bahria Town argues that the property auction—planned for August 7, 2025—should be postponed to prevent what it terms as “irreparable loss” to the company. The petition emphasizes that the auction should not proceed while legal proceedings are still pending.
Earlier this week, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) announced its decision to auction several high-profile properties linked to real estate tycoon Malik Riaz. The properties, considered prime assets, are set to go under the hammer in line with the Islamabad High Court’s directive.
With the case now before the Supreme Court, all eyes are on whether the country’s top judicial body will intervene to halt the August 7 auction or allow NAB to move forward with its plans.
Legal analysts note that the outcome could have significant implications for ongoing accountability proceedings and the broader real estate sector. The court’s decision is expected to set a precedent for similar cases involving high-value property disputes.
