Punjab Government Announces New Schools Timings in Punjab
New school timings have been announced officially by the Punjab government and the summer vacation of schools in the province is over with the new school timings coming into effect on August 15. In a new update distributed by the School Education Department (SED), new guidelines have been identified on the single shift schools and dual shift schools to supervise smooth resumption of academic activity on one hand and be able to handle weather conditions and operational issues.
Time of Single-Shifts Schools:
All the single-shift public schools will operate between 7:30 AM and 1:00 PM on Monday to Thursday.
According to the weekly practices of shortening the school during the special days of worship, the school will be shortened on Fridays and close at 11:30AM.
Hours of Double-Shift Schools:
Morning Shift (Monday, Tuesday to Thursday): 7.30 AM to 1.00 PM
Friday Morning Shift: 07.30 AM to 11.30 AM
Evening Shift (Monday to Thursday): 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm
Friday: Evening Shift 2:30 PM 5:30 PM
All schools affiliated to the provincial education authority will have to adopt these changes in the public sector schools.
Reason of the Change:
Punjab Government does this to make the back to school transition easier after summer vacation, comfort levels of students and the logistics of transporting them.
The new schedule is being implemented by the hopeful officials that they will enhance the rate of academically acceptable concentration along with attendance during the first few weeks of school year. It is also recommended that parents and students take note of the new timings and plan for it as the institutes prepare to resume academic activities with the new time.
